In this week’s discussion with Cathy Cavanaugh on That ALL Might Be Edified: Discussions on Servant Leadership we talked about the importance of putting people at the center of our organizations. The way we build our spaces both physically and metaphorically can have drastic impacts on how we invite the people inside our organizations to flourish. Our culture can invite great dialogue or it can suffocate it. Our processes can bring out the best in people or they can bog them down along the paths of administration. All of these things have a powerful influence in how we bring out the best in the people in our organizations and how much we nourish the creation of great ideas. We can be really good in one area, but need improvement in another. If we think about how each of these subcategories influences the whole, we can create a synergistic environment that harnesses the best in everyone.
