Chris talked about the importance or learning to recognize our own implicit bias. He talked about how an organization supports fundraising opportunities, attends certain prep school banquets, non profit outreach, language use, and many other things can all send subtle indications to the members or our organizations of what our biases are. If we don’t understand our own biases, we will never know how we might be alienating people who are different than ourselves. The link below has several tests that will help you identify you own implicit bias. You have to scroll down to the bottom and click “I wish to proceed” and then multiple tests are available to you. I invite you for this episode’s challenge to take one of these tests or more and begin to look for ways to go beyond the standard diversity, equity, and inclusion training to look for ways to harness the power of real diversity, equity, and inclusion in your organizations.
