It Starts With Heart

Marcus eloquently taught us that we need to begin from a place of caring about people to have crucial and meaningful conversations with them. When people know we care about them and really want to understand them and all that makes them who they are, they are more willing to open up to us and even be more patient with us when we make missteps along the path to understanding others. We also need to care enough to want to have those challenging and often uncomfortable conversations in order to move out of the comfort zone and into the growth zone and when we do it from a foundation of love, we are less likely to enter the panic zone where people shut down. It also reminds me of how Thero shared how his wife taught him to always start with care. Think about the people around you and how you can engage them in meaningful ways that speak to them as individuals!
