
Cathy recognized that there is not a scenario where every idea can be accepted or implemented, but elaborated that creating an environment where people feel encouraged to share their ideas is crucial. We need to create understanding and transparency in our process of how and why ideas are chosen. We can strengthen our organization by intentionally creating an environment that invites the growth and sharing of ideas while fostering deeper dialogue about those ideas. Cathy shared her example of actively looking for ways to open more channels for the growth and sharing of ideas. She readily recognized that different people have different comfort levels with expressing their ideas which highlights the need to create multiple mechanisms for the sharing of ideas so we can learn and grow from ALL while being exposed to a diverse range of ideas.
