Thero referenced a practice that his wife uses in her interactions with staff and when she coaches managers in how to approach their team and that is to ”start with care” treating people with a high degree of respect and not treating them as resources. By starting with care you are much more likely to solicit a positive response and to get genuine feedback. Creating a culture that focuses on caring about people brings out the best in teams and invites them to give their best.
